Intoxicating. Engaging. Irresistible. Brazilian/American singer-songwriter and music producer, Monica da Silva, is best known for her multi-lingual music productions that span five languages- English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French. Monica’s music has appeared on national and international commercials, and been featured on prime-time shows on MTV, CBS, NBC, HGTV, ETV and The Style Network. Monica is working on a brand new album, “Brasilissima” a follow up to her 2007 release, “Miles From Nowhere”. The new album will have more of an international flavor, and reflect Monica’s Brazilian heritage, a throwback to the days of Astrud Gilberto with modern elements and edge. Teaming up her talents with guitarist, producer, percussionist, songwriting partner, Chad Alger, has led to an incredible energy and compatibility that is revealed in their performances and recordings. Monica grew up between the U.S. and Belem, Brazil, a city located on the Amazon River. Growing up in a multi-lingual, musical family, Monica gravitated toward music at an early age. Beginning first with the piano, then the flute, and always singing, Monica knew what she wanted to do with her life from the start. After meeting Chad Alger in 2008, the two hit it off immediately and began writing songs like crazy. During the winter of 2009, they came up with over 20 songs. The rest is history. |
